The paper describes two phases of pilot testing to demonstrate that ZDD technology successfully achieved the water treatment goals at Hilmar Cheese. By combining RO and EDM technologies, the scaling concerns prevalent with a conventional RO treatment approach (calcium phosphate, calcium carbonate, silica) were eliminated.
