Treating Water for Industrial Use

This presentation documents the treatment schemes used by the West Basin Municipal Water District to treat secondary effluent for industrial use and describes issues encountered with an existing microfiltration (MF) process. Alternatives for replacing the existing MF process with a new ultrafiltration (UF) process are discussed including a non-proprietary system design. Advantages and disadvantages for each alternative are provided, and the presentation concludes with an overview of the selected treatment approach.
