This paper covers a 5 year mandate to reduce groundwater use by 30% followed by a 60% reduction by 2025 for the City of Missouri City, Texas. Discussed are the city?s efforts to coordinate funding, outreach, regulatory, design and construction of the treatment and transmission facilities within this abbreviated timeframe. The result was the construction of a regional microfiltration membrane plant with an initial capacity of 10 million gallons per day (MGD) and an ultimate capacity of 33 MGD.
