This presentation will summarize three case studies of piloting low-pressure reverse osmosis (LPRO) for the removal of emerging contaminants, such as per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and 1,4-dioxane. The speaker will profile the three subject communities, the intended goals for the individual pilots, the design and scope of these pilots, and operations/challenges encountered during the studies. Finally, the presentation will provide a brief summary of test results, subsequent decisions by the utilities, and some broad takeaways and lessons learned from the sum effort.
