Harmful algal blooms are organisms that have potentially affected the quality of many water bodies around the world. In this abstract, the synthesis of a Quaternary ammonium (QACs) nanocoated fiberglass membrane, is presented as an effective mechanism of microbial control while avoiding the formation of harmful disinfection byproducts. The synthesized material was evaluated in E. Coli and Microcytis Aeruginonsa showing excellent microbial inactivation performance. Knowing this, the abstract should be added to the program because the development of safe and
efficient antimicrobial QACs surfaces for the control of emerging contaminants, could provide a potential alternative for conventional water disinfection technologies.
