Since golf courses began watering with recycled water in the mid 1990s signs of problems have been seen. The problems were determined to be caused by high salinity concentrations from the recycled water. In order to address the TDS problems a dual membrane (i.e., MF/RO) was designed to replace the existing sand filtration system. The new system was able to meet the required water quality for the grasses at the golf course.
