This abstract compares two different membrane technologies: low pressure membranes and a newly developed hollow fiber nanofiltration membrane. The ultrafiltration plants in Scandinaviaemploy a unique method of integrity testing that will confirm virus removal rate of the water treatment plant. Hollow fiber nanofiltration plants are currently being installed in Australia, Europe and N America. Pros and cons of both technologies are compared, showing that both technologies are complimentary to each other.
