Placement and Optimization of Pumps and Energy Recovery Devices in Membrane Systems

This presentation will consider how selection and placement of pumps and energy recovery devices can optimize membrane systems for capital or life cycle cost. The effect of interstage boosting using pumps and/or turbochargers on feed velocity, flux distribution, and energy demand will be discussed with an emphasis on device selection to achieve project goals.
