This presentation cover the selection process for a wide variety of membrane system applications including seawater, brackish water, energy recovery systems, and low pressure pretreatment. Introduced are candidate steels based on PRE testing, the strength of various alloys. Past experiences and corrosion failures are discussed by site locations including the original Jeddah and Malta installations. More recent plant successes are also listed in a summary of experience. Energy recovery material selection and pretreatment systems are discussed as well.
