This presentation discusses advancements in reverse osmosis (RO) spiral wound element design with emphasis on 16-inch RO elements. Differences between 16-inch RO elements and traditional 8-inch elements are discussed along with special handling requirements for 16-inch elements. An overview of the Sorek, Israel seawater RO facility is also provided to illustrate the use of 16-inch elements in water treatment applications.
