This presentation provides a comparison between Microfiltration and Ultrafiltration membrane systems and provides an overview of manufacturers, relevant definitions and guidelines for major design issues. Considerations about pilot testing and advantages to Owner/Engineer in selecting membrane system prior to plant design is included in the presentation. It is emphasized that MF/UF manufacturers are Unique and membrane plant design should include consideration of ancillaries and waste streams must be considered.
