This presentation will describe the permitting, design, construction, and operation of a membrane filtration system constructed at a State Park located in the mountains of western Maryland. The new system replaced a conventional water treatment system that had been operational since the 1970s. The new system treats water from a manmade lake at the Park to supply drinking water to the Park including a popular beach day use area and campground. The exisitng treatment equipment was demolished and the new system installed in the existing building primarily in the off-season and came online in time for the opening of the season in 2018.
