This paper will explore the other practical issues that can arise when very high permeable SWRO membranes are used. One example is the flux imbalance that can occur in a pressure vessel. It is not unusual for the net driving pressure of the feed end to result in flux rates which differ by a factor of 10 times from the first to last element in the vessel. This and other design concerns will be discussed.
