Is There a Role for Membrane Technology in Planning for Drought in Texas?

The Bureau of Reclamation (Reclamation), together with the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB), and Texas Division of Emergency Management (TDEM) has been collaborating on a Tool for Planning Temporary Water Supply Response in Drought Emergencies (the Tool). Four communities in the severe drought area of Texas volunteered to serve as case studies for the Tool as a test of the Tool?s applicability, ease of use, and accuracy. This presentation and paper provide an overview of the Tool, results of the case studies, plans for making the Tool available to the public and extending it to other drought prone states.
