Implementation and Technology Challenges for a Regional Seawater Desalination Facility

“This paper will present the results of the vessel-based and land-base desalination evaluation including evaluation of intake and concentrate disposal alternatives and impacts to pretreatment requirements. It will discuss costs for the various alternatives evaluated, the unique local challenges to project implementation, and general challenges to implementation of a regional seawater desalination facility, such as issues of governance, funding and permitting.”
