This paper discusses the feasibility and implementation of photovoltaic power in the development of a PV-ED desalination system. The results of this project summarized and determined the amount of incoming voltage and amperage needed to properly and efficiently run the PV-ED system. The operations of the unit was tested under three different phases involving water quality, ED stack voltage variation, and pump flow variation. The study determined that the heavier concentration of brackish water correlates to a longer product water production. This technology and information can be used to further develop and improve the pilot PV-ED system.
