Ceramic Processes: The Future is Now!

The presentation will cover four topics. First, the author will discuss the features and basic differences between polymeric and ceramic membranes. The second topic will be a brief history of ceramic membranes, tracing the history from the 1st generation to the current (i.e., 5th) generation membranes that were developed and are produced and marketed by Purifics. Third, the author will discuss Purifics three patented technologies, all of which feature ceramic membranes. The three technologies are ceramic ultrafiltration (CUF?), photocatalytic oxidation (Photo-Cat?), and dewatering recovery system (DeWRS). Fourth and finally, several case studies will be presented, including applications for drinking water ZLD, stormwater reuse, and remediation of groundwater in Florida.
