Seeking a solution to the problem of a minimally staffed, remotely operated treatment plant, drove the project team toward a solution that doesn?t fit the traditional MBR model. This abstract describes an innovated combination of a surface aerator aeration basin in combination
with an MBR system, which to the best of our knowledge is the first in the world to pair the two technologies in a new design. Other labor-saving features were incorporated into the membrane system to further reduce O&M labor.
