Inspired by natural, biological systems, this work seeks to develop hypochlorite-resistant reverse osmosis (RO) membranes. Such membranes would be protected from the irreversible damage typically caused by reactive chlorine species, allowing hypochlorite to be used for biofilm prevention and treatment in RO systems.
