Advances in UF/MF Autopsies

Modern day advances in analytical techniques have evolved the Ultrafiltration and Microfiltration (UF/MF) autopsy into a highly advanced science. Fiber profiling techniques, Chromatic Elemental Imaging (CEI), along with cleaning studies including single fiber performance data have allowed for a more accurate and in-depth treatment of fouling. This presentation will review the various analytical tools and chemistries and introduce several case studies showing the utility of autopsy results. Operators of water and wastewater plants will come away with a better understanding of what types of information they can expect to obtain by executing an autopsy.
