Microbial Fuel Cell (MFC) have the potential to provide energy reuse within bioloigal treatment processes and reduce carbon footprint. This paper discusses use of MFCs in wastewater processes, methane production, desalinations, power supply and other advantages. The overall econonic advantages of MFCs are estimated.
