A pre-engineered, fully automated ultrafiltration system piloted and commissioned for the Town of Fine, NY, is described. The Town, in coordination with neighboring users, elected to install an ultrafiltration system after thorough review of technology options and completion of on-site piloting to address the necessary upgrades to the water treatment plant and distribution system. The system not only met the criteria for updated equipment but was able to address the need for remote control and monitoring, minimal waste discharge, and compact footprint. The project background, piloting efforts and findings, equipment design, and system optimization upon startup are all presented.
