The aim of this research is to understand and model the transport of 1,4-dioxane (a chemical of emerging concern listed in EPA’s CCL4) through a nanofiltration and reverse osmosis membrane. This presentation illustrates the means, methodologies, and results of mass the transfer of 1,4-dixoane through two membrane pilot units located in Jupiter, FL. This research includes pertinent information regarding membrane modeling via the homogeneous solution diffusion model with and without film theory, and with the effect of ionic strength.
